Wide range of battery chargers at Victron Energy

The service life of a battery is largely determined by the battery charger.

The following recommendations will help you to make the right choice for AGM, GEL or open lead batteries:

• a charging current between 10% and 20% of the battery capacity
• for each group of batteries have a separate outlet on the battery charger (up to 3 outlets)
• in wet rooms, a charger with IP65 or IP67 protection
• in applications where the charger supplies current permanently or for a longer period without consumers, use a battery charger with “adaptive” charging characteristic and “storage mode” 
• it is strongly advised NOT to use a battery switch for possible parallel switching of groups

For charging Li-Ion batteries other recommendations apply that will depend strongly on the particular application.
