Parallel Redundancy for Lynx Smart BMS
Victron Energy introduces the new parallel redundancy feature for the Lynx Smart BMS and Lynx Smart BMS NG series. This feature allows for multiple Lynx BMS systems to be used in a single installation, each with its own battery bank. This creates a redundant battery system, increasing the maximum installable capacity and the maximum allowable charge and discharge currents.
The parallel redundant operation is designed from the ground up to be as robust and redundant as possible. For instance, a disconnected network communication cable will not automatically lead to a complete system shutdown. The system will remain online as long as possible, taking into account the safety and health of the battery.
The GX device provides a comprehensive overview of all individual battery banks and the aggregated total, including their status.
Operation is simple and safe due to controlled, automatic reconnection. When a BMS can be reconnected, it will safely reactivate the battery bank without significant balancing currents. After a battery bank is activated by the user, the Lynx BMS units ensure it is smoothly reintegrated into the system without interruptions or intensive monitoring by the operator.
Required is a Lynx Smart BMS firmware v1.11 and Venus OS v3.40.
