LITHIUM versus lead batteries
Why choose a lithium battery?
Here are the advantages in a nutshell:
- Long service life (up to 5000 cycles at 70% discharge)
- High charging currents (up to 3 times the nominal current)
- High discharge currents (up to 3 times the nominal current and starter currents up to 20 times nominal)
- Lower weight and volume compared to conventional batteries (up to 50%)
- Large operating temperature range
- Low internal resistance
- Safe in use
In contrast to standard batteries, in order to optimise the service life of a lithium battery it is better not to charge the battery completely.
A concrete presentation:
Lithium 24/200 | AGM 24/220 | |
---|---|---|
5,1kWh | Capacity at C20 | 5,2kWh |
5,1kWh | Capacity at C10 | 4,0kWh |
5,1kWh | Capacity at C1 | 1,6kWh |
4,8kWh | Max. discharge current 5C | 0,6kWh |
84kg | Weight | 260kg |
92% | Efficiency | 75% |
2500 - 4000 | Cycles | 300 - 800 |
