Charge your car with surplus solar energy using the Victron EV charger
Victron recently launched a charging station for electric cars. The charging station delivers a maximum of 22kW AC in three-phase mode, or 7.3kW in single-phase mode.
One can choose between a manual or an automatic mode. With the manual mode, the charging can be started or stopped manually. With the automatic mode, maximum use is made of the PV system. The charging station detects when surplus solar energy is available and uses only this current to charge up the vehicle. This works only with an ESS system from Victron Energy.
The charging station has a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen for monitoring and operation. With the light ring around the charging port you can quickly see the device’s status. Via the web interface this can be programmed to present different light effects on the basis of the current status (detached, charging, charged, etc.). The EV charger can also be configured and monitored from the GX Touch.
