Ysebaert is switching to a new type of cable gland
After many years, we have decided to replace PA/PAP brass cable glands, a long-established feature of our range, by the EBU and KBA series.
Both these types are nickel-plated as standard, and available made of stainless steel on request.
Just like the PA/PAP, they are triple-certified, i.e. suitable for Exd, Exe and Ext applications.
EBU is the equivalent of the PA, a single clamping cable gland, and therefore is used as standard for unshielded cable. However, shielded cable is also allowed.
The clamping rubber consists of 2 or 3 removable parts which makes the clamping range very large.
KBA is the equivalent of the PAP, a double clamping cable gland and therefore suitable for armoured cable. The special construction of the innermost clamping rings enables any kind of armour or shielding to be clamped.
The clamping rings are fixed inside the body, but can be pulled out during assembly. Searching down on your hands and knees for a ring that has fallen out is also a thing of the past.
Unlike PA/PAP, we can also supply cable glands with M16x1.5 screw-thread.
In the next few months, the stock of PA/PAP will be reduced and that of EBU and KBA gradually increased.
